Caotech: new processing solutions for cocoa and chocolate


Caotech b.v., based in Wormerveer/The Netherlands, has a worldwide reputation as specialist in self-developed ball mills and conches within the cocoa and chocolate-related processing sector. At interpack 2023, the company will present its latest developments on cocoa, chocolate and compound processing.

Drawing upon years of expertise in conjunction with its extensive field experience, Caotech launched a number of developments in the field of cocoa, chocolate and compound applications in recent years. Traditionally, the company’s scope of supply covers a wide variety of installations. The spectrum ranges from a small lab size ball mill type Cao B5 and the lab conche CWC 5 to the Cao B3000 batch installation and the Cao 4000 as a component in a continuous production line for both cocoa and chocolate to complete turnkey projects.

The Cao 4000[3]-Choc in-line installation is a fully automated processing line for the production of chocolate and compound with capacities of up to 2,000 kg/h. Upon customer’s requirements, the line can be completed with ingredients feeding section. This continuous system has been developed for chocolate, compound, bread spreads and fat crèmes. It can be perfectly used for these heat sensitive masses. It has a unique configuration using a horizontal mixer, a – water-cooled – grinding shaft, grinding tank, grinding media and tube heat exchangers, resulting in an optimized use of the grinding/cooling efficiency.

At the trade show, Caotech will exhibit the Cao 4000-Choc, a PG 6000 beater blade mill for the pre-grinding of cocoa nibs, a Cao CM-24 roasted seeds as well as a nuts pre-grinder and a newly developed DC 500 dry conche. Furthermore, laboratory equipment will be on display.
