The packaging fair interpack has been postponed to the coming year due to the corona crisis. For this reason, quite a few suppliers in the confectionery, bakery and snack industries lack an important platform in order to be able to present their innovations to a larger audience “in real life”. Yet, some of the exhibitors prevented don’t let the crisis slow them down: they make a virtue of necessity and present their innovations on a virtual exhibition booth. We have also reacted to the postponement of interpack and replaced the planned pre-reporting with the special section “Production and Packaging”. In this special, we focus particularly on innovative solutions from well-known providers. In addition, Kerstin Dallmann from Sappi, a leading provider of wood fibre products and solutions, informs in an interview about new packaging trends in relation to the confectionery industry.

In our “sp portrait” series, we are presenting D&F Drouven from Aachen/Germany. The company has been active for many years with advice and training in the field of confectionery technology and in the area of the supplier industry. It offers support in all matters relating to confectionery and chocolate manufacturing – from the idea to completion.
