World’s largest packaging show opens up new perspectives

From 4 to 10 May 2023, interpack trade fair will once again offer the packaging sector and related process industries the largest international market overview. In Düsseldorf/ Germany, around 2,700 companies from all over the world will be presenting cutting- edge technologies and packaging trends along the entire value chain, highlighting growth opportunities and providing answers to the challenges facing the industry.

The year 2023 is dominated by the world’s largest and most international meeting place for the process & packaging industries: the interpack trade fair. The exhibitors will show how to become a game changer in the field of sustainability – with efficient and at the same time sustainable process and packaging technology as well as resource-saving production processes. The exhibitors use the fair as a showcase for their premieres and celebrate the long-awaited reunion of the global packaging industry.

To ensure that visitors do not lose their overview in the 18 exhibition halls, there is a tailor-made hall concept oriented to the core target groups from the food, beverage, confectionery and bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, non-food and industrial goods sectors. For example, visitors will find processes and machines for the production and packaging of confectionery and bakery products in particular in halls 1,3 and 4.

Numerous new special areas and activities complement the exhibitors’ offerings, including the lecture programme in the “Spotlight talks & trends”. For seven days, it offers input on the most important topics and trends in the industry, best practices with exciting applications, and presents the drivers for innovation and growth.

New to the industry is the “Start-up Zone” in hall 15, where ten young companies will make their first major appearance. They will present themselves to an international trade audience with exciting innovations, including software solutions for recycling or the supply chain as well as sustainable materials and packaging.

At Aasted in hall 1, booth B69, the spotlight is on the confectionery and bakery industries. “We will launch new enrobing and moulding solutions,” reveals CEO Piet H. Tæstensen. “We are pleased to participate again in interpack after six long years. During this time, we have been improving our equipment and making it more sustainable. We will exhibit some energy-saving products, a complete bakery line, and our entire portfolio of tempering machines. Also, our After Sales & Service team will be there to give the best-fitted plans for businesses to prevent production downtime.”

“interpack is back, and Syntegon, of course, is there,” Dr Michael Grosse, CEO of Syntegon Technology, is pleased. “At our booth, visitors will experience processing and packaging technology for a better life. On almost 2,000 square meters, we will present intelligent and sustainable solutions for tomorrow – automated, digital and efficient.” In hall 6, booth A31/B31, the company will demonstrate, among other things, its line competence for flexible and efficient horizontal packaging solutions for biscuits and bars.

Packaging systems by Schütz are used a million times every day the world over. In hall 10, booth D22/E34, the company among other things will present novel products like the Green Layer series, which aids customers in minimizing their carbon footprint. Roland Straßburger, CEO of Schütz and Vice President of interpack, explains: “With our multimedia overall concept, digital animations and, of course, in personal talks with our international team at our booth, we will present novel products which are ideal for a circular economy and optimize the supply chain of our customers, both economically and ecologically.”

Also in hall 10 (booth D21) is ProAmpac Flexibles. Here, visitors will find creative solutions for the area of flexible packaging. Ali McNulty, Market Manager Europe: “ProAmpac is thrilled to be back at interpack, as this trade show allows us to meet with a wide range of brands worldwide. We are eager to discuss our approach to sustainable packaging solutions, and how we can collaborate with customers on even more innovative flexible packaging solutions.”

How to mark products, safely, efficiently and in an intelligent manner, is what visitors can learn, for example, at Bluhm Systeme in hall 8b, booth C59. In hall 8a and 8b, the spotlight is on packaging as a medium of information. “This year, the marking world of interpack is concentrated within one-and-a-half trade fair halls”, says Sales Director Andreas Koch. “We are already looking forward to many talks with our customers, to the impressive design for our booth and the many new products. 300 square metres offer us enough space for a close-up presentation of our highlights.”

Also represented in hall 8b is Langguth company. Sales Director Matthias Rauen stresses: “We are delighted that with interpack the largest leading trade fair is happening again this year – and right on our doorstep. With our labelling machines, we want to meet the modern demands of the production world with regards to more efficient machines, higher degrees of automation as well as the service demands made of production systems, like OEE data recording or predictive maintenance.”
