At interpack 2023, Somic will be showcasing its new generation of Somic 434 machines. With this machine series for tray packaging, tray-lid or wrap-around solutions, the packaging experts from Amerang in Upper Bavaria/Germany are combining all the requirements for future-oriented packaging concepts.

All functional units have been linearly combined in the new machine concept, based on a platform strategy, and offer optimized performance on a compact footprint. With this concept, users in the confectionery industry should be able to benefit from numerous innovations. A strong focus of the new machine series is on user-friendliness, which has been
increased once again, compared to the already high level of comfort of the 424 series.

A core topic is the fast product changeover – a point that is given high priority in many customer requirements. “We expect that product changeover will remain a top issue in customized machine design,” emphasizes Josef Bliemel, Director Systems Engineering, who played a leading role in the design of the new machine series. “Different household sizes as well as the high variety of variants in the food industry place high demands on the flexibility of the packaging machine now and in the future.”

Consequently, customers benefit twice over with the new machine series: operators through the user-friendly machine design, and production planning teams through high machine flexibility. In addition, the company plans to present for the first time a technical innovation that has never been seen before in the industry, which is intended to raise the scope of packaging options to a completely new level and enable flexible pick-up and orientation of the products in the final packaging.
