Syntegon reports positive business development in 2021

Process and packaging technology provider Syntegon looks back on a successful 2021 business year. Thanks to its established machinery and service portfolio, the company was able to meet the high demand for new equipment and increasing modernisation needs caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. Syntegon also benefited from the effects of the global economic recovery in the special machinery sector and was able to significantly increase both order intake and sales. Order intake rose by 13.1 % from EUR 1.33 bn to EUR 1.50 bn, while total sales increased by 9.9 % from EUR 1.28 bn to EUR 1.41 bn.

Two-thirds of the total turnover came from global machine sales, the remaining third from Syntegon’s service offering. Sales in 2021 were generated in roughly equal proportions in the main markets around the globe, with a slight increase in Asia’s share: 35 % in Europe, 30 % in North America and a further 35 % in Asia and the rest of the world. The Food business saw particularly high demand in North America, where many food manufacturers have started to replace manual operations with fully automated packaging solutions.
