EU and German cocoa grinding numbers show growth again

According to figures released by the European Cocoa Association (ECA) for the second quarter, Europe’s cocoa grinding rose 2.0% compared to the previous year’s quarter to 364,081 tonnes. The total grinding volume of 737,579 tonnes in the first half of the year is 3.2% higher than the comparable level in 2021.

In addition, the twelve companies in Germany that work from the bean and participate in the reporting procedure with their production facilities, have grinded a total of 96,498 tonnes of cocoa in the second quarter of 2022. Following the 7.1% increase in the first quarter, this again represents an increase of 3.7% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
