Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate establishes new Tray Forming Business Unit

Shared strategies, new production and business synergies: these are the goals of the operation that formalizes the handover of Sacmi Packaging to Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate S.p.A. Production operations are moving to the nearby Castel San Pietro (BO) facility, home to Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate’s wrapping operations since 2018.

By establishing the Tray Forming Business Unit within Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate, the Sacmi Group has reached another milestone in its packaging and chocolate-related business investment strategy. This move – formalized on 14 December 2020 – sees the Sacmi Packaging business branch ceded to Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate S.p.A. The goal is to strengthen the group’s strategic standing within the industry by developing new production and business synergies.

At present, Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate is the world’s only company capable of providing – via its tried and tested brands – machines and complete lines for the preparation and moulding of chocolate (Carle & Montanari), wrapping systems for all types of chocolate or sweets (Carle & Montanari and Fima), flow-pack lines and secondary packaging solutions (OPM) for a variety of food and non-food sectors. The latest addition brings the number of business units within the group to four, working out of three separate facilities: Wrapping and Tray Forming (Castel San Pietro, BO), Process & Moulding (Rozzano, MI) and Packaging (Monticello d’Alba, CN).
