At Anuga FoodTec trade show, REA Elektronik presented innovations for labelling, code checking as well as direct printing. Direct printing instead of labelling is now also possible on films and smooth surfaces: The non-contact direct printing technology for the high-resolution inkjet printers REA Jet HR writes codes and plain text with optimized contrast – even on transparent packaging film. In one step, the system creates a white ink mirror and immediately writes on it with black ink, or in colour if required. Ink mirror and lettering then dry quickly together. “The innovative direct printing technology ensures high-contrast marking for very good code quality and high first-read rates”, emphasized Frank Debusmann, Sales Director National. “The elimination of labels reduces process costs, and waste is avoided by eliminating the need for carrier film. Direct printing ensures that the packaging material is of the same type, which simplifies recycling – all in the spirit of sustainable production and resource conservation.”
