Schumacher Packaging to invest large sums in the future

The Schumacher Packaging Group is planning the largest investment programme since the company was founded in 1948. Around EUR 700 m is to be invested by 2025, EUR 300 m of which in Germany alone. More than half of the planned investments (around EUR 400 m) will go into the expansion of existing plants.

Despite the difficult economic situation on the world markets, the packaging specialist is investing in the construction and expansion of corrugated board plants and paper mills as well as in sustainable future technologies, thus setting the course for the future. With the investment package, the company also wants to create around 500 new jobs by 2025, more than half of which shall be in German production facilities.

The goal of the ambitious investment offensive is to be able to meet the increasing demand for customized packaging solutions in the short and long term due to the e-commerce boom and to increase the company’s competitiveness. For 2021, the group expects sales of around EUR 800 m – by 2025, it anticipates a significant increase to EUR 1.3 bn.
