GPS data logger records critical transport events

The new MSR175plus tamper-proof data logger from Cik Solutions uses highly sensitive sensors to capture critical transport events and records the position of these events via GPS. The rugged logger features two integrated 3-axis accelerometers over measurement ranges of ±15 g as well as ±200 g (–20 °C to +65 °C). This is a decisive advantage in applications where it is not clear from the outset which of the two acceleration sensors should be selected.

The simultaneous measurement is carried out with the ± 200 g sensor at 6,400 Hz and with the ± 15 g sensor at 1,600 Hz. Thus, both light impacts and strong shocks and knocks are recorded in all three axes. In addition, the MSR175plus measures and records the parameters temperature, humidity, air pressure and light, which are also important for transport monitoring.

By means of an integrated GPS/GNSS receiver, the data logger can localize critical transport events. It records the satellite-supported position data in order to quickly determine the damage location for the transported goods and to be able to document it conclusively. In the event of damage, the recorded measurement data help to clarify liability and insurance issues as well as to optimize packaging.

The simple operation of the logger and the user-friendly documentation and evaluation software ensure smooth use in transport and logistics. To quickly call up a compact report of the measurement data – for example for documentation purposes – just click on the MSR ReportGenerator.

Power is supplied via a removable lithium-polymer battery (2,400 mAh), which can be recharged via USB port. The recording time with activated GPS tracking is up to eight weeks, without GPS tracking at least one year.
