Access through face recognition and temperature check

The safety of a company and the health of its employees are more evidently the focus today than ever before. This is particularly true for the food industry. Who is permitted to enter when and to what area of a production plant has to be defined as well as the numerous hygiene aspects, starting from the measurement of the body temperature and ending with the cleaning of soles.

In order to elevate the safety status to the highest possible level, in addition to the usual parameters, a large number of new aspects must be taken into account. The new generation of personnel airlocks from the hygiene specialist Mohn contributes its share not only to communicate the large scale of requirements but also to control and document them. Now, this happens automatically while passing through the personnel airlock. Latest camera technology in connection with an optional automatic data matching process enables the contactless data exchange with maximum efficiency and bandwidth applying the model Face Checkpoint.

Whoever wants to pass through the new generation of personnel airlocks needs only a moment (about 0.2 s) to look into the scanner to get identified. Once this has happened, a built-in camera first establishes the person’s identity via facial recognition matching. The accuracy is said to be over 99 %.

In parallel, a temperature scanner detects without contact whether the body temperature is below the fever threshold. If so, a pulse is triggered via a floating contact that, for example, actuates an electric door opener or unlocks the optional turnstile. If, however, the defined threshold is exceeded, the access to the building or to a particular space is blocked and an information about this condition documented.

At the same time, the Face Checkpoint Scanner detects to what areas the respective employee is granted access and whether wearing a face mask is mandatory. In this process, the correct fit of the protection mask is checked as well and displayed.

With this series type, the storage capacity of the face scanner covers 50,000 persons. This data capacity meets any demand, even with high fluctuation. The majority of the face recognition devices are not bigger than a smartphone and can be incorporated without big constructional effort. In this way, the Face Checkpoint Scanner of type FCP can be wall mounted quickly or positioned at any site using the optionally deliverable hygiene frame.

In addition, the double-wing sensor airlock Face Checkpoint of type FCP-DFT-A is recommended to be installed in the main entrances of buildings enabling the rapid passage of single persons. The blocking elements are made of transparent acrylic glass. The abovementioned type is a motorized sensor airlock designed for two-way operation and is barrier-free. Also, with this type all the functions of the Face Checkpoint Scanners FCP are usable.

This type of personnel airlock is recommended to be installed in the apron of an extended building access area to provide for additional security and, at the same time, to increase the check-in velocity. Literally on the fly, other access authorizations can also be verified or denied.
