Mettler-Toledo introduces new metal detection systems

Mettler-Toledo introduces its new GC Series conveyorized metal detection systems. This series enables the detection of metallic contaminants in packaged and unpackaged food and non-food products at critical control points (CCP) and shall score with flexibility, modularity and future security.

The GC series systems can be variably configured to suit specific application and customer requirements in compliance and production and can therefore be easily modified if needs change in the future. Due to the modular construction, the conveyor belt can be combined with any Mettler-Toledo Safeline tunnel metal detector. Proven Safeline detector technology and robust manufacturing quality ensure highly reliable detection sensitivity, long-term stability and minimal false rejects.

The modular design makes it possible to upgrade and expand the system from a stop-alarm to full due diligence system to meet the strictest industry regulations and retailer requirements. Modular construction facilitates reconfiguration – for example when it comes to repositioning, replacing or adding key components – and does not require any welding, drilling or cutting work.

Key safety features such as guarding and lockout/tagout (LOTO) devices for electrical and pneumatic systems protect operators and support safer maintenance practices. The hygienic design of the open stainless-steel tubular frame design prevents the soiling on surfaces and simplifies cleaning processes as well as the quick replacement and re-moval of belts and other modules. Thanks to the seamless system integration, the GC series ensures an optimized mechanical and electrical integration as well as optimized system performance for maximum uptime.
