New natural colourings available

GNT Group has several new Exberry Colouring Foods in its range. These natural solutions, derived from fruits and vegetables, include two shades of orange as well as high intensity reds and blues.

Two of the new GNT Exberry Colouring Foods deliver bright orange shades in powder and oil-dispersible formats. These options are available in addition to the existing liquid format. Made from paprika and carrot, the new Brilliant Orange products provide solutions for a wide range of applications.

The Exberry Shade Brilliant Orange powder is oil-soluble and water-dispersible. It is designed for applications including non-aerated confectionery, bakery and savoury products. The oil-dispersible Exberry Shade Brilliant Orange Intense, meanwhile, is ideal for compound coatings, spray-coated oil seasonings and other fat-based applications.

The new products are pH-independent and offer good light and heat stability as well as a good shelf life. They are 100 % plant-based and made without any chemical solvents. As such, they offer a suitable clean-label replacement for artificial colourants as well as additives such as annatto, beta carotene and paprika extract.

The new and improved range of Exberry liquid and powdered red Colouring Foods are free of added sugar. They offer higher colour intensities and contain just two raw materials, helping food and beverage manufacturers achieve shorter, cleaner ingredient lists.

Available globally, the new reds deliver colours that are 50 % more intense, which means they can be used in lower dosages to achieve the same effect, resulting in reduced cost-in-use. The new reds range includes shades such as “Vivid Red”, “Purple Plum”, “Veggie Red” and “Brilliant Pink”, made from fruits and vegetables including blackcurrants, blueberries, carrots, radishes and sweet potatoes. All are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The new Exberry range of blue powders derived from spirulina algae offers significantly higher colour intensity. The products are available in both standard and micronized powder form. The high intensity blues are offered with a choice of carriers, including maltodextrin or sugar. They are guaranteed to be trehalose-free, ensuring good levels of consumer acceptance.

Food and beverage manufacturers can use the powders to formulate products with high intensity blues from a natural and traceable source – and at reduced doses. They offer high solubility and stability in a number of applications. In addition, they are suitable for incorporating into hard-panned products, fondant, white chocolate and pressed tablets.
