Dear readers

Correct labelling is not child’s play. Anyone who has ever had to make a product recall due to incorrect information on the label knows how expensive such mistakes can be. Not to mention the damage to the image. Error-free work is therefore an absolute must. If you network your internal departments in the best possible way and rely on standardized digital PLM solutions for product development, you can avoid such problems. This is shown in the main article of our special “Labelling & Coding”.

The “Ingredients” section concentrates on two interesting trade events: the “8th Round Table Cocoa” in Hamburg, which focused specifically on the quality of cocoa beans, and the “Freisinger Tage (Freising Days)” of the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV). This conference dealt intensively with plant-based food proteins.

In our “sp portrait” series, we this time introduce the company Makat, which belongs to the Bosch Packaging Group and has been manufacturing special machines for the confectionery industry for 90 years. From the very beginning, the company focused on the development and construction of efficient mogul plants.

In the “Packaging” section, we take a look at the Polish confectionery manufacturer Mieszko, who relies on a clever solution from Schubert when packaging semi-circular cherry pralines. A special vibrating unit gently places the sensitive delicacies on their flat underside, before they are assembled and packaged in the TLM packaging line to form the most varied assortments.
