ZLV Packaging Symposium 2025: innovation and sustainability

On September 11 and 12, 2025, Kempten University of Applied Sciences will once again be transformed into the vibrant center of the packaging and food industry. The traditional ZLV Packaging Symposium attracts experts, scientists, start-ups and established companies to the Allgäu region and offers two days full of inspiration, exchange and the latest trends.

“The ZLV Packaging Symposium is one of the most important platforms for us to discuss current developments and work together on sustainable solutions,” emphasises Thomas Lux, Managing Director of the ZLV. This is where fresh ideas meet many years of experience, and the dialogue gives rise to innovative approaches for the packaging world of tomorrow.

The ZLV Packaging Symposium 2025 is supported by renowned partners BASF, Herrmann Ultraschall, Wipak and Kempten University of Applied Sciences. These partnerships make it possible to hold the event with its extensive lecture program and large exhibition. Once again this year, numerous exhibitors will be presenting their innovations and will be available for discussions with their experts.

The symposium is all about innovation, the circular economy and sustainability. Dr. Markus Contzen (h&z Unternehmensberatung GmbH) will kick things off with a keynote speech on „the management of global risks“. This will be followed by practical contributions providing insights into current challenges: Compliance, external innovation impulses and sustainable packaging solutions are on the programme, as well as exciting presentations by Annika Schoofs (Futury) and Dr Christian Arnold (MULTIVAC) together with Max Hammer (Watttron).

“The close cooperation between industry, research and start-ups at the ZLV Packaging Symposium shows how important interdisciplinary dialogue is for sustainable packaging concepts,” emphasises Dr Christian Arnold, Executive Vice President of MULTIVAC.

The focus will also be on digitalisation, new materials and the recyclability of packs. Experts from Oerlemans Plastics, Gabriel-Chemie and Bruker Optics will be presenting the latest developments in recyclable films, additives and innovative analysis methods.

Registration is now open via the ZLV website. Early bookers and ZLV members benefit from attractive participation fees. The full programme and further information on exhibitors and sponsors can be found at www.zlv.de.
