Creapaper: the sustainable alternative to film

The impact of plastic on our environment is undeniable. The flood of plastic burdens ecosystems, pollutes the oceans and endangers the health of humans and animals. Particularly in the food industry, where plastic packaging is standard, the call for change is growing louder. There is a responsibility here that can no longer be ignored: avoiding plastic and switching to environmentally friendly alternatives to secure the future of our planet. Consumers are becoming increasingly sensitive to this issue and are demanding responsibility and innovation from companies. The time is ripe for a change that not only protects our environment but also ensures the quality of life for future generations. It is essential that these alternative materials are both sustainable and resource-efficient. The efficient use of rapidly renewable raw materials and simultaneous environmental compatibility are indispensable.

Amidst this challenge, creapaper has developed a green, sustainable alternative to plastic: sealable grass paper. Available in 55 g/m² or 80 g/m², without compromising on quality. Its practicality has been proven in comprehensive preliminary tests on filling machines. In the non-food sector, initial steps have already been taken, which are now to be followed by its use in the food industry. In addition to being sealable, it is also printable. The material has natural opacity and is suitable for both dry and lightly greasy foods. The safety of food contact has been tested and confirmed by the German BfR XXXVI. Recommendation. Its recyclability behavior has been tested and positively confirmed according to the CEPI Recyclability Laboratory Test Method. Developed for the highest standards, the sealable grass paper is characterized by its high tear resistance. With a basis weight of 55 g/m², it can easily package quantities of up to 500 g. Available as printed or unprinted rolls, it allows for flexible adaptation to various packaging requirements.

Since its founding with the idea of making the world a little greener, creapaper GmbH has been steadily working on pioneering ways to use grass in the paper industry. From graphic grass papers to folding boxboard material, and tissue material for various applications, the focus is on sustainability and quality. The processing of grass fiber is carried out with significant savings in water, energy, and CO2 emissions. The process is completely free of chemicals. Grass paper is a sustainable alternative to conventional paper and other materials.
