Trends and innovations at iba

This coming September 12th through 17th the iba trade fair will present the industry’s trends, innovations and technical developments for small and mid-sized companies.  ,200 exhibitors will display new products and upcoming baking and confectionery industry trends at Halls A1 through A6 and B1 through B6 at Fairground Messe Munich. More than 70,000 visi­tors from over 160 countries are expected.

The “Packaging Area” will make its debut this year in Hall B1, housing some 50 exhibitors. The “SnackTrendS” theme area in Hall B3 is also new, while “Coffee World” in Hall A4 is a new special show.   Four teams from South Korea, Taiwan, Norway and Germany will compete for the “Confectioners” gold medal in the iba-UIBC-Cup. This competition is held every three years during the iba. Bakers will also battle it out for the “Bakers” iba-UIBC-Cup.

Another premiere is set to be the Day of the German Baker on September 13th, celebrating the world of baking craft. The iba-Forum will feature numerous services and programme highlights ranging from advisory consultations for skilled crafts businesses to specialised presentations and special demonstrations. The Day of German Confectioner will also premiered on September 16th, presenting a series of special events, expert speeches and specialised presentations. There will also be a confectionery apprentice competition, the new “HandwerksGuide” (‘Skilled Crafts Guide’) and exclusive guided tours of the fair. Also debuting at this year’s iba is the joint “Made in Germany” stand sponsored by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) where innovative businesses will present their ideas. Each of the five days of the trade fair will hold in store an exclusive programme with an abundance of activities, speeches and specialised demonstrations by pros, for pros.
