With its takeover of Pack Sud, a leading supplier of bakery product vertical packaging technology, Sacmi looks to reinforce its primary packaging position, to expand its customer pool and to complete its technology range. The takeover saw the Sacmi Group acquire a 60 % holding in the Bari-based company, an established manufacturer of food packaging and wrapping machines.

Founded in 2003, Pack Sud is a young, dynamic company that now brings its unique vertical packaging design and marketing know-how to the Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate Division. Over the years, the company has developed close ties with local companies in the bakery field on account of the design advantages of their versatile, low cost machines. Pack Sud employs 15 people and turns over EUR 2.5 m a year.
